Search engine marketing, very broad concept; isn’t it? Can you visualize the word? This is my personal experience that the people in online marketing business having different perception about this word!!! Majority of people cover link building, social media and other off-site related activities in SEM.

Till date, I have conducted more than 100 interviews of SEO’s and whenever I ask any question related to SEM, most of the people gave answers about off-site optimization activities!!! What do you think? Are SEM activities only limited to offsite-optimization? According to me, SEM is the super set of SEO-SMO-PPC and all other online marketing activities that directly or indirectly impact your search engine rankings in paid or organic rankings.
