After long time I am writing article to be post here, earlier I have promised to write article regarding to PR passing and where to use ‘rel’ attribute. Before starting I will emphasize on do-follow and no-follow attribute. Do-follow attributes stat that crawlers can follow the link and can pass the link juice to pointing page. The link which is having do-follow attribute will get all the benefits of link juice in SEO optimization. No-follow attribute is totally opposite to it, which will stop crawler to pass benefit of link juice.

Page rank (PR) distribution and link juice passingAfter experiencing many page rank updates by Google and reviewing many article on leading SEO blogger and SEO service provider, I have conclude you should try to keep minimum outgoing link from your page. Must be thinking why? Let me explain, If your home page having PR5 and there are 10 out going link to internal pages and 2 outgoing link to other sites, than PR will be distributed in all 12 sites. Just imagine if you site having more than 100 dynamic pages, news pages and other pages which are not of your interest to optimize for ranking. And what if your home page having outgoing links to those non important page (here non important means SEO important), your home page pr will be passing to all those pages as well as important pages.

Now if you put no-follow attributes to those non-important pages than? Obviously you will get more benefits to your important pages. My suggestion is to give do-follow tag only those pages which are important for you as Search engine optimization point of view. Put each and every outgoing links by considering this point in you mind. So, linking structure of the website is plays very important role as visitors and crawlers point of view.

There is no such thing as a dofollow link, it is called a NORMAL LINK. Its standard. You dont choose to make a link follow, only no follow.

I do agree with you that there is nothing like dofollow attribute, there is only no-follow one.. But i have mentioned that term to differentiate do-follow and no follow. The link which is not No-follow is termed as a dofollow thats what i tried to mention.

Yeah i suppose its a good way to differentiate… i guess it’s just annoying me because now many newbies believe that normal links are actually called dofollow.
