Google Introducing Chrome OS for NetBook

Google’s Vice President of Product Management have announced Chrome OS for Netbook in the Official Google blog post about introducing the Google chrome OS today.
Operating systems on which browsers are running were design in an era where there was no web; however operating systems are getting upgraded to provide more flexibility for web and browsers. Google’s aim to introduce Chrome OS is to provide better internet experience to the people who live on net. Google Chrome operating system will be open source and will be announced later in the year of 2010. Chrome OS will be light weight module which is initially designed for NetBook. NetBook will be available for consumer in the second half of 2010.
Main key aspects of Google Chrome OS are Simplicity, Speed and Security, which can easily provide better user experience for internet users. Users who spend most of the time on internet and web surfing can get maximum benefits of Google Chrome OS.
Just after this announcement, all social media sites are swamped with news about Google Chrome OS introduction and its features. According to me, Google cannot give tight competition to windows as Chrome OS may have few limitations due to its light weight module. But one thing is sure that people can work on this OS and fulfill all basic requirements with the help of other Google products like Google docs.

Chrome OS would be very competitive on Microsoft operating systems. I was thinking that one day, Google would launch an Operating system that would complete with Windows XP or Vista. Google and Microsoft would compete head to head now that Microsft launched its Bing search engine.
with the release of Google Chrome and Microsoft Bing search engine, one would expect that there would be a very stiff competition between Google and Microsoft.
Chrome OS is just based on Linux and it is not really a “real” proprietary operating system from Google. i wonder if Google would also compete with MS Windows in the future.
Chrome OS is sort of a very basic operating system based on Linux. i wish that google make an operating system just like Windows XP that would compete with Microsoft
i tried Chrome OS and it is pretty much like a scaled down version of Ubuntu. Chrome is just based on Linux and there is nothing new about it.
Well actually Pinoytech you used a Chrome OS version which was a spoof(That Chrome OS was not Google’s own Chrome OS,Its a fake one. It has only looks of Google Chrome and was a variant of Ubuntu). Google just few days ago gave sneak preview of it’s original Google Chrome OS in and event and also released the source code for tech enthusiast. Some companies have compiled the source code and are providing a VMware/Virtual Box version of Google Chrome OS for download. Actually I have heard that Chrome aka Chromium is not a real PC OS, it is a cloud OS that means the OS runs on the web. If the Internet is not there then there is now use of this OS. I came across some Pics and Videos of this OS and saw that the OS looks like a web browser ( A modified version of Chrome OS ). I think cloud computing is yet not viable. It is a far distant dream because there are still countries where the Internet speed is quite slow and If Google really wants to compete in the OS market with Microsoft, it really has to undo the blunder it has committed i.e. of making the Chrome OS a cloud OS
I have installed Chrome OS on one of my netbooks and the performance of Chrome OS is just okay. there is nothing fancy or very special about it. It was just a sort of GUI version of linux or something.
.
Chrome OS is just another rebranded Linux GUI, it would be much better if Google came up with an OS that would directly compete with Windows.
